I really don't know what to say in this post, except to express my love & thanks for all the friends and family who made our wedding a beautiful event.
It was absolutely perfect, because of the people who were there. People who were genuinely happy to witness and celebrate with us.
HH & I got married last saturday, 3rd July 2010 and have moved into our new home. Its been crazy busy with renovations, school and wedding prep, but I think it was a magical wedding, and our dream home^^
Made these for HH and his office - they went so fast! The sponge was soft and light, and the chocolate buttercream smelled so good. Definitely will make these again soon!
This was the first ever cupcake recipe that I had tried, previously I had stuck to baking muffins, as I hadn't realized the insidious allure of these creamy, sweet confections.
The Hummingbird Bakery Cookbook is my favourite baking desserts book of all, with everything I've made from it (red velvet, green tea cupcakes, carrot cake) -> all so good! I'm going to try to go through more. My other favorite cookbook is "Cakes to celebrate love and life" by Callie Maritz and Mari-Louis Guy.
Having made both versions of red velvet cupcakes, the hummingbird's recipe is richer and more flavorful as it uses butter AND double the cocoa of the other recipe, and HH has taste-tested both and proclaimed this version his favorite.^^
I've made it 3x now, and as long as you follow the recipe, the cupcakes have never dissappointed:)
For 12 cupcakes (note that these are 12 large cupcakes -> like Muffins).
Cream cheese frosting says its for 12 cupcakes, but I usually have a lot left over as I don't like mountains of cream cheese frosting (but this stuff is SO yummy) on each cupcake. So I refrigerate the rest and eat it on other food, or use it on the next batch.
Posting the recipe below in response to bittenbefore's recipe for green tea 'rice cooker' cake!^_^
Carnegie Mellon Professor Randy Pausch (Oct. 23, 1960 - July 25, 2008) gave his last lecture at the university Sept. 18, 2007, before a packed McConomy Auditorium. Its a very moving presentation, take an hour to watch it. its well worth it.

Japanese PC maker Kohjinsha has taken its dual screen notebook concept it showed off at last month's CEATEC show and made it into a production PC. The DZ6HKE16E is the first of the DZ-series of notebooks, and comes with a 1.6GHz AMD Athlon Neo MV-40 CPU, 1GB of RAM. There is also an integrated ATI Radeon HD 3200 graphics chipsets to drive the two 10.1-inch displays, each with 1024x600 resolution and an LED backlight.
For us poupee lovers, there’s going to be a poupeegirl game for the DS. I hope it will come in english. Not sure if the allure will still be there since you can’t interact with your friends, or fav other people’s rl outfits. So I will wait and see how the gameplay is like.
Nintendo really comes out with cuter games than the PS, their targeting of female consumers is quite spot on, with Loco Roco, Cooking Mama, and now poupeegirl.
